Probably the very 1st & most worn 1966 "BATMAN" T-Shirt available at the start of "Bat-Mania".

Being that my grandmother & my mom were antique collectors, the disease of being a pack-rat passed over to me at a young age. Even when we moved, which was a good deal, if there was stuff I wanted to keep, it was not thrown away or disgarded. So even after 40 or so years, I still have my Batman & other assorted character t-shirts, & items you would not believe...I am finally starting to part with just about everything, by selling on Ebay & through private collectors. Of course, just like cardboard, paper & ephemera items; clothing, asst. wear, bedsheets, towels, etc., are about the rarest items to find for a collector.
Here are the various Batman & other, Childrens T-Shirts/Jerseys/Sweatshirts, that have survived. There are a few that have been lost, yet I have pics in family photo albums, showing these sometimes unique & pop-arty relics of the 1960's & 70's...The 1st Eight images are from the 1960's, & the rest are from the early-mid-1970's. Enjoy...

One of the original 1966 "MarvelMania" T-Shirts of The "MIGHTY THOR", by Jack Kirby & Joe Sinnott.

A very nice Jersey with Blue Collar & long sleeves featuring the Classic Steve Ditko "SPIDER-MAN".

To coincide with the 1969 Apollo landing on the Moon, even Charles Schultz' "SNOOPY" got into the action with much asst. merchandise.

An early-1970's John Romita "CAPTAIN AMERICA" appeared on a good many shirts to create pro-American awareness for the troublesome events happening to our young & brave soldiers over in Vietnam.

These were probably the very first Licensed "DC Character" T-Shirts to be offered through the DC Comic Books of the early 1970's, which is how I acquired them.

America's biggest Television "Bigot" was even merchandised to a degree, due to the immense popularity of Norman Lear's, "ALL IN THE FAMILY".

No one was more popular in 1973 than "Jeet Kune Do" Master, "BRUCE LEE". He passed away before his to-be most famous Movie was released, "ENTER THE DRAGON". A very rare shirt, as not much merchandise was made compared to the fake copycat films & many magazines alluding to the real story & truth behind his "mysterious" death.

A beautiful Painted image by George Wilson of "FLASH GORDON" & Alex Raymond's fantastic creation of fantasy & wonder. Originally used for a 1970's paperback book cover, of a series of novels, adapted from the famed 1930's King Features Newspaper Comic Strips.

One of two 1974 "WORLD'S FINEST" long sleeve shirts, with various panels of the heroes in action.

Beautiful painted KARLOFF Image of Universal's/James Whale's/Jack Pierce' Interpretation of Mary Shelley's Immortal "FRANKENSTEIN".

One of the quality made sleeveless satiny emblemed shirts I had which disappeared over the years. My opinion, one of the best licensed "BATMAN" tops ever.
